Christa Fleming PA-C Discusses Healthier Choices with Hot 97.9 Shani Sweets on Health & Hip Hop

Dec 17, 2025 | Health & Hip Hop

This month on Health & Hip Hop, Christa Fleming, a Physician Assistant at Advance Community Health, sat down with Hot 97.9 to talk about making healthier choices. Fleming believes that prevention is the foundation of long-term health. “I’m a firm believer in prevention; prevention is honestly the cure,” she said. “If you’re already starting out on a good foot, making healthier choices, exercising, staying active, you can prevent a lot of chronic diseases.”

Small Changes Make a Big Difference

Throughout the episode, Fleming shared practical ways for people to begin improving their health. She explained that health starts with small, consistent steps. “When talking to patients, I try to gauge where they’re at and give them little tips they can actually use,” she said. “Simple stuff like switching from soda to diet soda or water, easy changes that really do add up to a healthier life.” These small adjustments can lead to significant improvements over time. Reducing sugary drinks, eating more balanced meals, and moving your body regularly can all help lower your risk of chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and other diseases
