The A-Team

The A-Team is a community health ambassador program open to community members ages 16 and older. The purpose of the A-Team is simple: to create healthier communities! Through the A-Team program, you get to promote health equity, educate and empower your community, and transform the landscape of healthcare for years to come!

What does the a-team do?

  • Actively promote and represent Advance Community Health in a positive fashion.
  • Participate in community events such as festivals, health fairs, patient engagement workshops, community meetings and more.
  • Help conduct grassroots community outreach including canvassing and other door-to-door outreach activities.
  • Use social media to promote and share information about our services, programs, and events.
  • Attend monthly meetings and trainings.
  • Assist with identifying ways to improve our communication with the communities we serve.

a-team ambassador benefits

At Advance Community Health we recognize that it takes time and resources to be active in your community. We want to create equitable opportunities for everyone to participate in our program by providing hourly compensation.

A-Team ambassadors will receive $18/hour for a maximum of 15 hours per month.

In addition, as a member of the A-Team you get the unique opportunity to:

  • Educate, empower, and inspire your community.
  • Build healthier communities by improving access to care.
  • Learn the inner workings of community health centers.
  • Plan community events to address health needs.
  • Develop public speaking, social media, and communication skills.
  • Connect with fellow community organizations and expand your network.

Am I ELIGIBLE to apply?

  • Do you live, work, or attend school in Wake or Franklin County?
  • Are you at least 16 years old?
  • Are you passionate about helping and serving the community?
  • Are you able to commit between 10-15 hours each month to the program?
  • Are you able to attend a monthly meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month from 6:30PM – 7:30PM beginning in January 2024?
